The WIM Water Alliance (WIMWA) held its second meeting of 2026 on 15 May 2026, bringing together water professionals from Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday Regional Councils for a full-day session in Mackay.
The meeting covered a broad agenda of regional water initiatives and marked a significant step forward for collaboration across the Greater Whitsunday water sector.
The 15 May meeting also featured a dedicated session for waste, with GWCoM Regional Waste Coordinator Natasha Klosterman and council waste managers presenting a 20-minute update on the RWMP (Regional Waste Management Plan) Coordination Program. This is the first time waste has featured formally on the WIMWA agenda, reinforcing the value of cross-sector collaboration.
