In March 2026, Regional Waste Coordinator Natasha Klosterman attended the Waste Recycling Industry Queensland (WRIQ) Symposium in Brisbane, joining waste coordinators from across Queensland and representatives from the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI).
The symposium is an important forum for staying connected with industry direction and policy, and for making sure the Greater Whitsunday region has a voice at the table.
The GWCoM Regional Waste Management Plan (RWMP) Coordination Program Implementation Plan is now at draft final stage and ready to present to the Waste Steering Group and member councils.
